Vieussan is nestled in the Orb valley, one of the major river valleys of Languedoc, the Mediterranean coastal region that together with Provence and Midi-Pyrenees make up the south of France or as the French call it, 'le Midi'. For basic travel maps and directions go to Google or Michelin. We are within easy reach of the new A75 autoroute (at Lodeve) as well as the A9 (at Béziers). See travel for further information.

See the online relief map of France - we are right at the bottom, roughly in the middle between Montpellier and Narbonne. The village nestles in the foothills of the Monts de l'Espinousse, the southernmost mountains of the Massif Central which you can see in this map, the last hills before you reach the coastal plain and the Mediterranean.

The map (right) shows the Upper (Haut-)Languedoc regional nature park, centred on nearby Olargues and coloured blue (although it is not a lake!). Vieussan is in the SE corner of the park, in the direction of Béziers.
