The holiday home is the entire ground floor of a century-old winemaker's house. The spacious accommodation has its own walled garden with dining table and barbeque overlooking the river (help yourself to cherries, grapes and figs in season). At the bottom of the garden is your own private river beach. Bathe or swim in the sun in the gently flowing waters, then lie in a hammock or picnic under the shade of the trees on the beach. It is a short walk across the fine old bridge to the relaxed café-restaurant, the Lézard Bleu, an excellent venue for light lunches, afternoon beers or dinner, and up the hill to the medieval village of Vieussan with its narrow streets. Tennis courts (we have rackets), a canoe base and wine and vegetable outlets are within 5 minutes' walk. Hills and gorges provide wonderful walking; Mediterranean beaches are just an hour away.

The accommodation was described as 'peaceful' and 'stylish' by a recent visitor. Renovated in 2006 in a contemporary style but retaining many original features, it includes a spacious living room with lounge, kitchen and dining areas, 3 double bedrooms, 1 with double bed, 2 with twin beds, the original wine-cellar with wine-press and decorated vats and table tennis. The bathroom has an open shower area. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, CD player; bedlinen ('good quality crisp sheets', according to a visitor) and bath towels included; mosquito blinds on windows. Cot available. Central heating if needed, fuel and electricity costs included.

The owners are usually available to answer queries and resolve any problems during your stay. Our own accommodation is on the upper floor of the house, with a completely separate entrance and terrace at the opposite end of the house from the holiday apartment. There is also effective sound insulation between the two apartments. We do not use your garden or beach area!
